PRIVACY POLICY
PreVerify is committed to safeguarding your privacy
online. Our commitment applies to all information that we collect and receive
through the Job Board ("Job Board"), and the www.preverify.com and hiring.preverify.com Web Sites ("Sites").
As part
of our online employment history, personal recommendation pre-verification
service and Job Board services, PreVerify collects a variety of types of
important personal information from the users of our Sites. As part of our
commitment to safeguard this important information and provide a superior
service for those using our Sites, we have adopted and posted this Privacy
Policy to help you understand the various types of information we will be
collecting from you online, why we are collecting it and what we will do with
the information once it has been collected.
A.
Information You Submit To Use The Service
In order to use the PreVerify Sites you will be asked to provide us the
most important personal information we collect about our users. For example,
for user job seekers this information includes everything disclosed in your
resume along with your name, contact information, e-mail, birth date and other
personal information that you are required to provide on our submission and
consent pages on the Sites. Our service is for adults only and we do not
knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under
the age of 18.
B.
What We Do With Your Personally Identifiable
Information
The primary reason we collect personally identifiable information from
and about users through the Sites is to allow users to contact former employers
to pre-verify their employment history and to obtain a personal recommendation.
It is therefore a user's request and authorization that triggers the disclosure
of their information to former and potential employers, as well as to anyone
else to whom the user gives permission to view the details of their employment
history verification and/or personal recommendation, including prospective
employers and others who post jobs to which a user may apply through the Sites.
Our service, therefore, helps prospective employers eliminate the waste
associated with sorting through resumes from job seekers which do not have
accurate employment histories. User
information supplied by a user and from former employers, including a user’s
personally identifiable and account information, may also be shared with
certain third parties performing hosting, storage or other technical services
for us related to the Sites. These companies and individuals will have access
to your information as necessary to perform their functions on our behalf, but
will not be allowed to share your information with any other third party or use
the information for any other purpose.
C.
Other Information We Collect About Our Users
In addition to the personally identifiable information discussed above,
we also use a variety of technical tools to help us understand how our Sites are
being used and to help improve the user experience on the Sites for users,
prospective employers and others who may rightfully use the Sites. We use
these tools to collect information about your computer hardware and software,
like your IP address and browser type. We also use text files known as "cookies"
to help us remember you, your user name and your password when you leave and
then come back to our Sites. Cookies also help us track how our users use
our Sites, what pages they visit, what web sites our users came from before
visiting us and for other technical uses, such as load balancing, that help us
enhance the Sites’ performance. Please note that if you choose to decline
cookies on your computer it may reduce the quality of your experience on the
Sites and prevent you from using certain features of the Sites.
D.
Other Ways We May Use Or Share Your
Information
In addition to performing our employment history and personal
recommendation pre-verification and Job Board services, we may also use your
contact information to send you email or other communications regarding the
status of various employment history verifications, personal recommendation
requests and responses and Job Board services, clarify questions regarding a
user's profile or to respond to your questions. We may also use this information
to let you know about new functions, features and services of the Sites, or to
notify you about updates to this Privacy Policy as described below.
We also share aggregated anonymous information about our users with
other third parties. For example, these aggregated statistics may include the
number of users we attract to the Sites or an analysis of the various
qualifications and characteristics of our users, such as their employment
experience, schooling and age. None of this aggregated data, however, is tied
to your personally identifiable information when it is disclosed to any third
party.
We will also disclose personally identifiable and other information when
we believe in good faith that such disclosures will help us comply with all
applicable laws and other governmental regulations, for example, responding to
a court order or subpoena. We will also disclose this information when we
determine in good faith that the disclosure will help enforce our Terms of Use
for the Sites, protect the safety or security of our users or their data and/or
to protect the safety or security of the public, our Sites, business or our
other property.
Finally
we will disclose and transfer personally identifiable, account and other
information to a third party who acquires all or a substantial portion of our
business in a merger, purchase of all or a substantial portion of our assets or
some other transaction. If we become the subject of a bankruptcy
proceeding, all of our information may also be transferred in a transaction
approved by the bankruptcy court. You will be notified of any such transaction
in an email or by a prominent notice posted on the Sites.
E.
Security
We use commercially reasonable technical, administrative, and physical
security measures to protect user information from unauthorized access and
improper use. Unfortunately, however, due to the nature of Internet
technologies, security and privacy risks cannot be eliminated and PreVerify
cannot guarantee that your personal, account and other information will not be
disclosed in ways not otherwise described in this Privacy Policy.
We are not also responsible for the use made of a user’s personally
identifiable information once it has been turned over to any prospective
employer or other entity or person with the user's consent. We are not
responsible for the retention, use, disclosure or privacy practices of any of
these third parties.
